Jingling bells, pounding drums, floating scarves, “hooting” owl sounds and little feet moving in time to music . . . these are just a few of the sights and sounds parents and children experience at a Leapfrog Music class. Parents of newborns to 4 year olds are able to participate in Allison's classes and enjoy a valuable learning experience for both child and parent or caregiver.
In Allison's classes, both children and parents learn through music and movement. "The songs and activities in my classes enhance a child’s total development by strengthening physical, emotional, social, and cognitive skills at a very early age", she explains. "My life’s work, teaching music, has allowed me to experience the joy of watching children learn and grow in a warm, creative learning environment for both parents and children."
Allison's classes comprise activities created by early childhood music educators and are informed by the latest research in child development. Her programs provide early childhood learning opportunities through music and movement and connects families to the joy of their child’s development. Her classes are developmentally appropriate – each child is encouraged to learn at their own pace. The most current research on child development indicates that a child’s fundamental learning takes place between birth and 7 years. Allison's classes offer a broad assortment of activities which promote language development, social interaction, cognitive development and coordination, and awaken a child’s imagination.
